A lady has been emailing folks on Trip Advsor to take letters and presents down to Mayanabo to a guy called Oxxxx.
We did not have time to get to Toronto collect the presents and letters but she later found someone else.

I spent March 18th to 25th at this resort and absolutely loved it.
If anyone from Toronto is planning on going here in the next few weeks please please e-mail me.
I would like to send a small gift and letter to one of the staff members whom I miss so very, very much: lovely(underscore)laressa(at)yahoo(dot)com.
I chose Santa Lucia because I am an avid snorkeller and what I saw here was quite magnificent. There nothing much to see if you swim directly off of the beach but there is a small amount of coral and some typical Caribbean fish close to the Caracol pier.
I arranged for one of the "nautical centre" staff members to take me out to the reef on a catamaran and the snorkelling was on par with the best I have ever seen (I have dived and snorkelled all over the Caribbean, Central and South America).
The wait staff and hosts at the restaurants are delightful and very attentive. This was a pleasant surprise!
The beach was lovely.
The bartenders are friendly, efficient and generous.
One last comment: I am a young woman and I was travelling alone on this trip.
The people I met at this resort were delightful: Cubans, Canadians and Europeans alike! I always felt comfortable and very safe.
