Can I take my portable DVD Player into Cuba ?

by Jodi Collins
(England)

Is it ok to take a portable DVD player & DVDs into cuba?

Answer by Vic webmaster Havana-guide.com

Yes, you can take your portable DVD player and a
limited quantity of DVD's. Don't exaggerate the quantity of DVD's, only take a few. When you have to much DVD's the customs might not believe it's for personal use only and charge you custom duties. In the worst case they will let you sign a document that you will export the DVD player again by your departure from Cuba. This are rather exceptions. In case of problems never argue, always play the ignorant tourist and ask for their advice and help. This attitude is always more productive. Notice, that all porn or even soft porn DVD's (and magazines) are forbidden in Cuba.
