It is not only Cuba. But also what happens in the other Carribbien islands. There was a couple that rented scooters and got into a accident. Before an a ambulance would be called, the scooter rental company made them pay for the damaged scooter.(which was enough to buy a brand new one) Then the ambulance came and made the injured people pay in full the cost of the ambulance fee before they would take the vacationer's to the hospital. And the Hospital would not treat them until they gave them their credit cards to pay for the treatment. It just goes to show you, All they are interested in is making money and not the well being of us vacationer's that support their country!!!The tourism boards do not want vacationer's to know what really can happen to you once you leave your Country..

Competence of Cuba's President Raoul Castro by: JohnStratford
The decision to delay Cody LeCompte's return to Canada by several days after it was thought an arrangement for bail, etc. had been reached must have had Cuban government connivance at the highest level. No third of fourth level bureaucrat would make such a decision with its potential devastating impact on Cuba's #1 source of hard currency - i.e. tourism. We can therefore seriously question the competence and intelligence of President Raoul Castro and his chief ministers!

Teen? by: Anonymous
I hate how they are referring to Cody as a teen to make his situation seem more tragic. He's a man under law, so call him that. I'm sure there is a lot more to this story than is being told by the Canadians.
