"Cuba has plenty of museums and is a paradise for the museum visitor"
There are plenty of Cuba museums, many of them are located in Havana. The most important
are listed below.
Museo de la Revolución - Museum of the Revolution
The museum is located in Calle Refugio (Refugio street) between Calle Zulueta and
Avenida las Misiones (Central Havana). The museum is housed in the former presidential palace.
Documents, photos and memorabilia are exhibited about the Cuban independence wars
with special attention to the final battles against dictator Batista. In the park in front of the
entrance, the yacht "Granma" is installed surrounded by tanks used in
the Bay of Pigs
invasion, and parts of the US spyplane shot down with Soviet missiles.
Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes - National Museum of Fine Arts
This famous Havana museum is located on Trocadero street between Zulueta and Monserrate street. The Cuba museum
houses an exceptional art collection of colonial and modern art, including modern
Cuban paintings from Portocarrero and Wilfredo Lam.
Museo del Ron - Rum Museum
Location: Avenida del Puerto, opposite the Sierra Maestra terminal. The museum is the
home of the famous Havana Club rum (Fundación Distileria Havana Club) and displays
the production of rum in a replica distillery. Opportunity to taste the different brands and
special editions in the adjacent bar-restaurant. Guided tours and rum shop.
Museo Ernest Hemingway - Ernest Hemingway museum
Located at the manor Finca la Vigia in San Fransico de Paula, 11km from Old Havana.
Finca la Vigia is the villa where
Ernest Hemingway lived for twenty years. To preserve the collection visitors
are not allowed inside the house, from the windows, his personal belongings, typewriter, hunting
collection etc. can be seen.
Casa Natal José Marti - Birth place of José Marti
A small house at Leonor Perez street is the birth place of Cuba's National Hero. The story
of his life is shown with documents, photos and memorabilia.
Museo de Automóviles - Antique Car Museum Havana
The vintage car museum shows well maintained cars dating back to 1920, but of course
the real vintage car museum is the open air museum of pre-revolutionary cars, Chevys, Chryslers
and Buicks driving in the Havana streets.

Cuba museum: Museo Humboldt
Location Oficios street 254 Old Havana. Botanist Frederico Von Humboldt lived in this
house. The museum contains reproductions of plants and insects collected during his
travels.
Museo de la Ciudad - Museum of the City
This Cuban museum is located at the Palacio de los Capitaines Generales, Plaza de Armas
Old Havana ( at the end of Obispo street) and shows the city's colonial heritage, the hall
of mirors and the trone room are worth a visit.
Cuba museum: Museo del Numismatico
Located on Obispo street, the museum shows a collection of rare coins and banknotes,
included silver Spanish Reales dating from the 15th century.

Museo de los Artes Decorativos - National Museum of Decorative Arts
Location Calle 17 #502 Havana Vedado. The museum houses a collection of precious
China wares, China vases and furniture.
Museo de la Cerámica - Artistic Ceramic Museum
Location: Castillo de la Real Fuerza, calle O' Reilly, Old Havana. The museum displays
a Cuban ceramic art collection.
Museo Nacional de la Musica - National Museum of Music
Location: a beautiful mansion located at Cadevilla street, Old Havana.
An intresting collection of African drums, violins and other music instruments.
Napoleon Museum Cuba - Museo Napoleónico
Location: Calle San Miguel #1159 near Havana University. The museum shows an
overview of the life of Napoleon Bonaparte with an extended collection of personal objects
and a collection Sevres China.
Museo de la Danza - Museum of Dance
Location: Calle G, corner Linea street . The museum is dedicated to the life of Alicia Alonso
founder and leader of the
Ballet Nacional de Cuba and shows a collection of photos and
personal items.
