Cuba Travel and Ferry from Cancun to Havana

by Mike
(Philadelphia PA USA)

Can you take a ferry from Cancun Mexico to Havanna Cube for the day?

ANSWER by Vic Webmaster Havana-guide.com

There is no regular ferry service between Havana Cuba and Cancun Mexico. Some foreign (Non US) cruise lines may have a stop in Havana, but not frequently. The only ferry service that exists in Havana is a small ferry service between Havana Sierra Maestra terminal and the La Regla district across the bay. The best solution for a short trip from Cancun to Havana is by plane. There are daily flights between Havana and Cancun. At Havana airport you can buy a tourist visa valid for 30 days at 30 USD. (tarjeta tourista) Note that it's still illegal for USA citizens to travel to Cuba, unless they have an OFAC license. The Cuban immigration officers will not stamp your passport only the tourist visa.
