Cuban Festivals and Cuban Traditions
The Cuban Festivals are a confirmation of the Cuban Culture and Cuban Tradition.
The important Havana festivals are listed below:
Festival del Habano
The Festival del Habano is held each year in February in the Havana Convention Hall
(Palacio de Convenciones). This is a festival for exclusive Havana cigar distributors,
cigar manufactures, suppliers of the cigar industry, craftsmen and collectors, smokers
clubs and Cuban cigar lovers.

International Havana Hip Hop and Rap Festival
This festival is held each year in August at the Havana suburb ALAMAR 20km east of
Central Havana. Read more about the roots of the

Havana Carnival (Carnaval de la Habana)
This event is held each year at the end of July along the Havana Malecon, the Havana
seaside boulevard. Many colorful dance and music groups from different Havana neighborhoods
parade in Havana. The roots for this Havana Carnival go back to the ancient slave and Afro Cuban
traditions.
International Jazz Festival
This jazz festival is held on the 14 -17 th February at the Teatro Amadeo Roldán
Havana International Book Fair
Held at the El Morro, is a commercial book fair (end Januari)
International Havana Ballet Festival
Cuban National Ballet
This is a bi-annual festival held at the Grand Teatro de La Habana in Central Havana
(October 24th - November 6th)
International Ernest Hemingway Marlin Fishing Tournament
Held at the beginning of June at the
Marina Hemingway.

Bienal de La Habana ( 10th Havana Biennial)
With works of more than 150 artists. The Havana event is held at the
Centro de Arte Comtemporánes Wilfredo Lam San Ignacio street 22 Old Havana.
