The owner of this exclusive estate was the millionaire Irenee Dupont de Nemours.
In March 1957 Irenee Dupont visited the Xanadu mansion for the last time, she died in 1963.
It's said that the French company Bouygues is considering a new marina and golf project in
Varadero.

The New York Times reported that a Canadian group has signed an
agreement with the Cuban authorities to build a golf course project close to the Guardalavaca Playa in the Holguin province.
Other investment groups are planning golf projects at Playa Jibacoa, and Bahia Honda.
