Cuban Marriage or Cuban Nightmare

PLEASE DON'T DO IT

I have stayed in Cuba many times and for periods of 4,5, and 6 months even. I married a Cuban from Cienfuegos, at first it was for convenience and to protect her as the government and police don't want Cubans associating with tourists.

I made the biggest mistake of my life and I'm living a nightmare now. Just yesterday she is on the phone with someone telling them how I'm abusing and beating her. This is about the 30th time she has done this and it is with total strangers or friends of mine.

It started while I and my Cuban wife were in Byamo Cuba visiting this nice clean city. One day my wife thought she was the only person in the house (casa particular) but I was sitting reading in the garden. She got on the phone and called collect to Toronto to a friend of mine named Stanley. I heard her clearly saying I love you Stanley, I need you Stanley, help me Stanley. I got up and leaned against the wall were she could see me, the conversation quickly changed and she hung up. She denied saying what I clearly heard.

After being in Cuba 100 times I was sick of it and sick of all the liars and scammers and decided never to go back. But there was still my wife there. She kept calling me leaving me heart wrenching messages on my phone and I missed her too.

I kind of thought that my wife's problems were because of Cuba and Cuba's depressing ways and the lack of any opportunities there.

I went to Cuba 1 more time and told her I'm going to make a huge decision and invite her to Canada. I am twice her age and I told her that she can live with me without paying anything just go to school and improve her English, so she can get a job. I told her how touching people and hitting in Canada is completely unacceptable. I also told her that she couldn't invite any guys to my home but if she met someone more her age that she was free to go, I asked her just don't cheat. She agreed to everything.

After $2,000.00 she arrived and the nightmare began in 48 hours when she slapped me. After this I heard her on the phone talking in Spanish, my spanish isn't great but I could understand some words and I didn't like what I heard, so I picked up the phone and said sorry to interfere but some things I'm hearing aren't the truth. The women on the phone told me she was from a crises centre and that she could call the police on me, I said for what, she told me your wife said you are keeping her a prisoner in your home. WHAT, I asked, where are you located I can have her there in 1 hour and you can call the police too.

The next similar incident I again picked up the phone and again this new person from a new crisis centre said your wife is saying you are forcing her to work. The next thing I find out is that my wife is recording names and phone #'s from my phone book and email addresses from my email account. Thank God 1 good friend called me and told me what my wife is doing and saying.

She is phoning and emailing not just my friends and people she may have met being with me she is emailing and phoning friends of mine she doesn't know and has never met, and she's tellig them all the same lies and garbage how I'm abusing her and beating her. It's unbelieveable.

Some of these now X-friends and strangers have called the police telling the police they think I may be abusing her. Some of my X-friends and strangers have called other neighbors on my street asking them if they know us and can they go check up on the poor beaten Cuban. It's unbelievable and getting worse.

When I try and ask her to move to an apartment and I'll pay she tells me I'm safe here and you have to take care of me for 3 years as that is what I had to agree to with Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Now every person on my street hates me, never having the police at my home ever, the police have been here 4 times since her arriving. Even the police told me to get rid of her. She was actually charged by the police as the police once said what is that on your face, I said what, they said it is blood and asked if I wanted her charged, I said no the I'm trying to deal with her the best way I can. My nerves are so bad and I'm so stressed at times my body is malfunctioning and I am almost convinced she is trying to cause me a heart attack or something like that. Yesterday she even took a knife out at me and said I'll open you up like a pig, my father taught me how to do it.

Please do not bring any Cubans back to any country or you will regret it and pay and pay and pay for your mistake.
