El Floridita in Old Havana
The famous bar/restaurant El Floridita is located on the Obispo street #557 at the corner with Monserate street in Old Havana and close to Parque Central (Central Park). The bar is well known for its Daiquiri cocktails and was a favourite hang-out of the writer and Nobel Price winner Ernest Hemingway, who spent many hours at the bar with his favourite Daiquiri's. El Floridita has a special fifties interior with flowery wallpaper, red velvet curtains and Hemingway memorabilia. The Floridita was visited by several celebrities among them: Pierce Bosnan, Naomi Campbell, Jane Fonda, Giorgio Armani and Paco Rabanne. El Floridita is a 100% tourist spot, visited by tour groups, and the cocktails are expensive, but a must for the first time visitor to Havana.
