Generacion Y in Cuba

Generacion Y is an expression to describe the generation after Generation X. Generation Y are persons born in the seventies and eighties (1970-1990)

In Cuba this was the era of the abundant aid from the former Soviet Union. A period prior to the collapse of the Soviet Union and the start of the Special Period in Cuba.
During the Generation Y era many new born babies in Cuba were bearing names with a Y. Names like Yoandi, Yanisleidi, Yusimi, Yordanis, Yadier, Yasmanis, Yanet, Yaritza, Yoelvis, Yosvani... and Yoani.
