Life at Havana del Este beaches

Havana has several beautiful beaches nearby, called “ Playas del Este.” The closest beach is Barucano, situated about 15 km east of Havana. The best beaches are at “Santa Maria del Mar,” this is the most tourist-oriented and the busiest of the “Eastern beaches.” Boca Ciega is situated 27 km from Havana and 3 km further you’ll find “ Playa Guanabo.“ Close to Alamar is a quiet and lovely beach. “Mar Azul “ mainly visited by Cubans.

You can use the Viazul bus (http://www.viazul.cu) departing from Nuevo Vedado, but the best option is to go by taxi. A single trip will cost 15 –20 CUC, or about 1 CUC per km.
