Havana nightlife offers many opportunities for a great night out in Havana: lots of bars with live music, and clubs for music listening and dancing.
Best places to experience the Havana nightlife and live music:
Casa de la Musica - Havana Centro
Calle Galiano (Galiano Street) between Neptuno and Concordia Street
Casa de la Musica - Miramar
Calle 20 esq 35 playa miramar
Café Cantante, Mi Habana
Teatro Nacional de Cuba, Paseo esquina 39
Plaza de la Revolucion, Vedado
my recommendations:
Be on time, there’s always a crowd particularly when a famous music band like the VAN VAN is announced.
Be aware a night at the Casa de la Musica can be expensive, but the ambience is great, a highly recommended experience with non stop dancing and music from midnight till 4 o’ clock in the morning. The cover charge is between 10 - 25 CUC per person, and a bottle of Havana Club rum sells for 25 -50 CUC.
A word of caution: beware of pickpockets and don’t walk alone in the dark streets of Old Havana and Havana Centro. Your best bet is to take a taxi to your hotel or casa.

Salon Rojo
21st street between N and O Vedado (near Hotel Nacional)
This is a fifties style cabaret -a longwinded show with classical Cuban songs (in Spanish), great for the amateurs of the style. All drinks are included in the 10 CUC cover charge. Wear a sweater or pullover, it can be cold inside with the air-conditioning on.
Atelier
17th street corner 6th Vedado
A Havana nightclub with good ambience mostly visited by Cubans.
The dress code is casual in the Cuban nightlife but in the top
havana night clubs and disco's shorts and sandals or sloppy clothing are not allowed. For most Cubans a night out to the disco is a reason to dress up.
