Holguin Cuba:
The capital of the province Holguin is SAN ISIDORO DE HOLGUIN, named after the Spanish Capitain Garcia Holguin, who conquered the native TAINO inhabitants and founded the Cuban city in 1725.
Holguin is a medium size Cuban city with 325,000 citizens and has an important industrial patrimony.

  • Nickel, chromium and cobalt mining is a major business activity from which comes 20% of the country revenues.
  • Agriculture is the second important economic activity based on sugarcane, coffee and corn.
  • A well known industrial activity in Holguin Cuba is the Brewery Cerveceria Bucanero owned by the Belgian-Brasilian INBEV company that produce the Cuban beer brands Bucanero, Cristal and Mayabe
  • The tourist industry is a fast growing activity and gains more importance each year.
