I had no idea about life in Cuba

by BrokenHeartedGirl
(Toronto)

Until a few moments ago I was very excited about the man (27) I met in Cuba last week. I am very young (21) fresh out of university, and my family went to Cuba as a graduation present. Now, I must state that my parents are very strict and I have lived a very sheltered life.

We went to Melia Cayo Coco, I was very bored at first because most of the other tourists were the 40+ crowd. I was walking around the resort when this short(5'7), very tanned man, with excessive hair gel and an imperfect smile started walking beside me, keeping pace with me. I said nothing to him; I did not even acknowledge him. When we parted at the fork in the road he said to me, "You are very beautiful", and we both went on with our day. He knocked at my hotel door later, again telling me how beautiful I am and exotic I look (I am half Portuguese and half-Guyanese) and that he MUST meet with me at the beach bar when it closed. I met him at the beach bar. We spoke for a while. The third day I was there we slept together. To me it was incredible, before that I had only slept with one person (my ex-boyfriend) and it was not like this; he was romantic, passionate and affectionate. At night during the shows he would always pull me up to dance with him and the performers, and at the end of every show he would always kiss my hand in front of the audience. He made me feel very special.

After reading the other posts here I’m very disappointed and a little sad. My Canadian ex-boyfriend was super gorgeous and this Cubano is a little bit above average-looking (hence why I didn't give him a second look). I guess I did see some signs, like how impressed he was that I had an iPod touch, and to be fair his best friend did tell me he's not a good guy. I am relieved I found this website before I was hustled.

You slept with him on the third night. What did you expect?
Have some sense, class and dignity. It's never love when you give it up so easily.

I have been to cuba once ,and it was santiago,i met some people who were staying at the resort.
One older guy from canada had married a cuban girl who was staying at the resort and his wife and daughter were staying at her parents home.

He told me that they were living in seperate rooms and they only think of there familes in cuba,so i think all they want is a ticket out.

By the way i am guyanese i used to live in canada but i live in guyana now,so maybe i would really to meet up with you as friends i will put my email here if you want to get in contact with me.

Sure, there's no doubt about the Melia animation team, whether it's the entertainers or the dancers. It isn't just the males though, the female dancers are just as bad. Multiple boyfriends, secret aborted pregnancies, and always sneaking around somewhere with somebody or from somebody. If you're dating a dancer there, you're probably sharing her with several others. As for the flamboyant male dancers they claim to just be friends with, they'll be in bed with them as well (and their brothers).

Melia Cayo Coco
by: Anonymous

The Melia Cayo Coco has its fair share of jinetero and jineteras in its animation team, from the entertainers through to the dancers.

Having got to know most of them, I can tell you that if 'your' guy isn't there anymore, he has likely scammed his way out of the country or is now working next door at the Sol. Those who say they moved to the Sol because it pays better are lying - the management at the Melia binned them off because they wanted nothing more to do with them.

These people have no problem screwing (literally and figuratively) anybody over. One of the male entertainers scammed several women to make a few thousand dollars to get on a boat, where he has since shacked up with some sucker in Central America. His short friend was always sleeping with somebody different, no moral values whatsoever. A male entertainer got caught with photos of her 'other' boyfriend in her room when her cabin crew boyfriend turned up unannounced and several of the female dancers have had abortions to hide the fact that they've got a Cuban novio whilst having several yumas on the go.
