Jose Marti International Airport Havana, Cuba

by Melissa
(Australia)

A friend and I have a 7.5hr stopover in Havana at José Martí International Airport we arrive at 5:10pm and depart at 12:30am. We were wanting to make the most of it and explore is there a place were our bags can be left safely some sort of facility?

Answer by Vic webmaster Havana-guide.com

José Marti International is the biggest airport in Cuba and has all the facilities you can expect
of an international airport. This include ATM's, money exchange at the CADECA (official Cuban exchange offices) internet access, shops, farmacy, a service for lost objects and a lockers and a luggage storage area.

Notice that when you are in transit you can't leave the airport. Once you pass the immigration services, you have to check-in again. 7.5 hrs is alot of time but not enough to see something of Havana, the airport is 25km from Central Havana.
