La Guarida, the famous Havana paladar is situated at Concordia street 418 in Central Havana.
The entrance through an old gateway in a crumbling mansion lead to a monumental stairway. The restaurant is located at the third floor.
This Top paladar was visited by Queen Sofia of Spain and lots of Movie Stars and Celebrities.
Scenes of the Oscar nominated Cuban Movie 'Fresa y Chocolate' were filmed at this location. The interior is decorated with pictures of the many celebrities that visited the la Guarida restaurant. The quality of the dishes is among the best Cuban food you can get in Havana.
We ordered the "Pollo asado con miel" (Roasted chicken with honey) followed by an icecream 'Fresa y Chocolate' (strawberries and chocolate) and coffee at 25 Cuc per person (25$).
The restaurant La Guarida is a wonderful Havana experience.
Note: the name "La Guarida" means: the Shelter, the Refuge, the Hideout. A great name for a "secret place" in the city.
