The popular restaurant EL ALJIBE is located on 7th Avenue, between 24th and 26th Street in the residential Miramar district. This is a nice half open-air restaurant famous for it’s special chicken recipe. I assure you, at El Aljibe you eat the best chicken in Havana, served with rice, platains, black beans, fried potatoes and a salad assortment at a price of 12 CUC.( 15 US$) To North American and European standards this is a fair price, but for the average Cuban it’s half a month’s salary.

The service is friendly and fast. To complete the feast I finished with a seven year old Havana Club rum and an excellent 10 CUC Cohiba cigar.
Yes, life can be wonderful in Havana.

we had problems with the tall restaurant downtown some litle guy thought he was scarface. I did not want to tip him ten bucks to get in BECAUSE i was wearing ...
