I am Ricardo Rodriguez and was born in east-germany on 14-03-1983 in Brandenburg.
My biological Father came to east-germany to study and to work. I think he was there for about 3 years. In those 3 years he met my mother Christine Brigitte Kurz. They married and got me! :) unfortunately, my father had to return back to Cuba when i was like 3 or 4 months old. After that i never saw him again or heard anything from him...

The years went by and now im 27. i have a burning desire to find my real father and to know if i have anymore brothers or sisters i dont know about.

When i was nine years my mother and older brother (Thomas Rodriguez, from another man) moved to Holland, Groningen. And here i live now and studied ICT, psychology and philosophy... i produce music and am an DJ. I work at Paylogic HQ in Groningen.

What I know of my father is not much. I only know him by stories and a picture, wich i have not on my computer on this very moment but can later always send another email. His name is Jose Hernandez Rodriguez. My father was born I think on the 23th of december 1954 or 1956. He was born on the same day as my mother but im not sure of the year. My mother was born on 23-12-1954. He was born in a place i think its called Poblado De Elia. I seached endlessly for that place and actually found it with google maps. I hope i have spelled it right because now that i see the name i dont know for sure. i have it on a little paper at home so i can check it always later. Thats it actualy. I know he was looking for me a couple of years back when i was like 21 or 22. He found a friend who was still living i germany and that friend found me. but unfortunately the contact was broken again after a hurricane on cuba in that year. the hurricane was called Ivan(2004) or Dennis(2005).

I know this is very little information and i wil speak more with my mother to get to know more and more.

I realy hope you can point me in a direction to look further because i run out of options.

My Cuban Grandad resided in Jamaica over 53 years ago. He had a son (my dad) named Robert Percival Thomas in Jamaica before he moved back to Cuba. I believe he left Jamaica when my dad was only 6 years old, my dad is now 53. I would love to locate and get in touch with my cuban relatives. I know he has other kids in Cuba probably but I don't know much about this. Any advice?

Getting in touch with Cuban relatives is not easy
because of the lack of information. A lot of people have only vague information, a name and sometimes a location.

A good start is to collect as much information as you can find and record all information. Talk to family, search in telephone directories etc.
An other problem is that people frequently move without notice.

I'm trying to find my birth mother. Her name at the time of my birth was Mercedes Suarez Y Mestre. Her father's name was Mario Suarez(at least that was one of his last names. Her mother's name was Mauricia Mestre (at least one of her last names). My mother was 14 years of age when she gave birth to me. She lived in Central Havana. Hi Eloisa,
I have no instant answer to your question. What I suggest is to gather as much info as possible about your grandfather, only a name and the Cuban nationality will not be enough for an investigation. Where did your grandfather live? do you have pictures or names from friends, relations? For example: suppose that he lived in or near a big city, Havana or Santiago etc. you can contact the Registers of the Population. I am afraid this can't be done from a distance. I think when you have enough basic info you have to pay a visit to Cuba and talk to people that might have known your Grandfather. Investigating your roots can be a process of many years.

Hi, I am the daughter of Olga Louise Tomas (Wade). My mother was born in Havana, Cuba on December 19, 1952 to Daphne Green and Herman Livingston Wade. My mother and her grandmother (Cegert Tomas) moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1962 to live with my grandmother and her husband.

As the stories have been relayed to me, my grandfather, Herman a.k.a. John who's mother was Louise Piper and his father was John Wade, he also (Herman) had a brother named Frank; Herman had a lot of children, 6 boys and 6 girls. He was married to a woman named Dorothy but I don't know what her maiden name was whom he had a daughter with and also had a daughter with a woman by the name of Grace.

Also, my grandmother (Daphne) had a friend by the name of Juanita Watson, who was my mother's godmother. Juanita had a brother named Orolio and a sister named Linda.

My mother is deceased but my older brother and I would like to find our family. I'm sure we have a lot of Aunts, Uncles and cousins that we would love to meet and eventually like to visit! My grandmother mentioned Oriente, Marianio and the Vedado suburb. I know this won't be easy but we are hopeful that we can find someone who may know someone. Thank you for reading.

Looking for Parents of OSVALDO MATIAS LOPEZ born 2/24/59

My name is Caridad Lopez Bryan. My father was born in Cuba in colon matanza. He came to the US in 1980 in the Mariel boatlift. He died in 1993 and I would love to know some of my family members in Cuba. His mothers maiden name is Esther Torres and his fathers Osvaldo Lopez. I learned this information from his application for a social security number. I was told by my mother that he had a sister named Caridad as well but don't know if this is true or not. My husband grand-father white business man, died in a train crash in Cuba many years ago. His grand-father name was James Francis. My husband family came from Jamaica and he’s one of the youngest of 14 children and he’s age 51. Two of his brother died one in 1991 and the other died last year August.
