Vaccine shots and Cuban holidays?

by jeff

What vaccine shots should I take before my Cuban holidays?

Answer by Vic webmaster Havana-guide.com

Vaccinations are not necessary or required for travellers to Cuba.
A health care insurance is recommended, most Cuban hotels have doctors on staff.
More complex situations can be treated in the international medical hospitals like the
Cira Garcia Clinic in Havana.

A few simple precautions are recommended :
* Use a mosquito repellent such as Deet, a mosquito bite can cause Dengue fever.
* Never drink tap water, always drink bottled water.
* Avoid "street food" the hygiene is not optimal and can cause diarrhea.
* Take along a small first aid kit with anti-diarrhea, antibiotics and aspirin.
Have a nice Cuba trip!
